Filip Breaks His Silence After Split From Stella And His Statement Leaves More Questions Than Answers

After days of speculation surrounding his split from fellow Married at First Sight bride Stella, Filip has finally broken his silence. Taking to Instagram, Filip thanked everyone who had reached out with support before confirming he would not be discussing the relationship publicly.

"I'm not going to debate our relationship on social media. I respect what we shared, wish Stella the best, and I'm moving forward with peace and gratitude."

It's a respectful statement, and no one is suggesting either of them owes the public every private detail of their relationship. But considering their love story played out on international television, I think it's fair to say many viewers were hoping for a little more insight than a carefully worded farewell.

While Filip didn't explain what led to the breakup, he also didn't deny that the relationship had ended, confirming what many fans had already suspected.

The phone breakup that's divided viewers

One of the biggest talking points online hasn't actually been Filip's statement, it's the way the relationship reportedly ended. Many viewers have expressed disappointment after Stella publicly said she was broken up with over the phone.

If that's how the relationship ended, I completely understand why so many people have reacted the way they have. Ending an engagement is never easy, but after everything the couple had been through together, many fans expected a face-to-face conversation.

Of course, none of us know the full circumstances surrounding that decision, and there may be factors we aren't aware of. But based on what has been shared publicly, it's understandable why so many viewers have found that part particularly upsetting.

The comments section only added more fuel to the fire

Almost as much attention as Filip's statement has been the reaction underneath it. Several of the MAFS grooms rallied behind Filip, with Scott McCristal commenting that people don't know "the real story" and that if they did, they would understand what really happened. There's absolutely nothing wrong with friends supporting friends.

What I found disappointing, however, was that comments like these inevitably cast doubt on Stella's version of events without actually explaining why. If there's another side to the story, that's completely fair but vague comments often encourage the internet to fill in the blanks itself, and that's rarely helpful.

Was Joe right all along?

Watching everything unfold also made me think back to one of the earliest warning signs during the experiment. Stella's friend Joe admitted he got "red flag" vibes from Filip almost immediately.

One moment that stood out was Joe questioning why Filip mentioned his YouTube channel during his wedding vows.

At the time, plenty of viewers thought Joe was reading too much into it. Looking back now, though, it's understandable why some fans are revisiting those concerns and posting #Justice4Joe.

Different priorities?

Another thing that caught my attention was how differently the pair appeared to handle the breakup publicly. While Stella was opening up about how hurt she was and sharing her truth with followers, Filip continued posting fitness content and motivational stories.

Everyone copes with heartbreak differently, and there isn't a right or wrong way to move on. Still, from the outside looking in, the contrast between the two felt striking.

Stella's response spoke for itself

Not long afterwards, Stella shared a post about life in the public eye. She reflected on how people create versions of you based on television edits and social media, while the people who truly know you understand who you really are. Rather than trying to convince the internet she was right, the post came across as someone choosing authenticity over public approval.

It was simple, mature and, in my opinion, said more than any lengthy statement could.

Do the actions match the message?

Filip has built much of his online presence around discipline, growth, gratitude and becoming your best self. His public statement certainly reflects those values. Whether his actions throughout this breakup align with that message is something readers will likely have their own opinions on.

The timing still raises questions

One thing I can't ignore is the timing.

The relationship ended almost exactly 12 months after their televised wedding. To be clear, there is no evidence that the timing had anything to do with any contractual obligation, and I'm not suggesting that it did. However, because there are still so many unanswered questions, it's understandable why some viewers have started wondering whether the timing is purely coincidental.

I've also noticed something else. Stella appeared to have a successful business before MAFS, and if anything, it seems to have flourished even more after the show. Filip's post-show journey appears different from the outside.

Did either person's career have anything to do with the relationship ending?

I honestly don't know. It's impossible to say, and any suggestion otherwise would simply be speculation.

Final Thoughts

Relationships end, and no one owes the public every detail of what happened behind closed doors.

But when your love story begins on one of Australia's biggest reality TV shows, viewers naturally become invested.

Personally, I think a little more insight from Filip would've been appreciated. For now, we're left with two very different public responses, plenty of unanswered questions and a lot of online speculation. Whatever happened between them, I genuinely wish them both the very best moving forward.

Stella has shown resilience throughout this experience, and I have no doubt she'll continue to succeed.

As for Filip, I hope he finds the "peace"

he's searching for.
